About Colorado CPA Directory

What this is

A complete, free directory of every certified public accountant with an active Colorado license — 12,272 CPAs across 242 cities, plus 4129 licensees registered in other states. You can look anyone up by city or name without creating an account or paying anything.

Why it exists

Anyone with a preparer tax ID can charge to file your return. Only a CPA, an enrolled agent, or an attorney can represent you before the IRS if that return is ever questioned. The state publishes who holds a license, but the official lookup answers one name at a time and assumes you already know who you are looking for.

This site turns that roster into something you can browse by city. If you already know who you want, confirm they are on it in seconds. If you don't, tell us what you need and we'll make an introduction.

Where the data comes from

Every listing is built from the Colorado State Board of Accountancy's public roster of licensees. Our copy is dated September 13, 2026.

The roster carries a name, a city, a license number, the dates the license was issued and expires, and its status. It does not publish phone numbers, email addresses, or employers — so neither do we, and we cannot tell you what a CPA charges or specializes in unless they tell us themselves.

The board also records disciplinary actions. We do not republish or summarize those, because a one-line label cannot carry the context of a case — every profile links to the licensee's own record at the board, where the full history is shown. A copy can lag reality, too, so confirm current status there before you hire anyone.

Only active licenses are listed

The board's full roster runs to 39,002 names, and fewer than half are active. The rest are expired, inactive, retired, surrendered, suspended, or revoked. A handful hold an active license with board-imposed conditions; we leave those out rather than list them without the condition. We drop those before anything is published — not hidden behind a filter, but never written to the site at all — so a name you find here held an active license on the date above.

We also never publish home addresses or ZIP codes. The Colorado roster has no street address, and the ZIP it does carry is used only to catch misspelled city names, never shown. City is as precise as this site gets.

If this is your listing

You can ask us to correct anything that's wrong, add details the roster doesn't carry, or remove your listing altogether — no reason required, no argument. Once removed, you stay removed through every later refresh. Get in touch and we'll take care of it.

Who runs it

I'm Brooks Conkle, an entrepreneur and online creator in Mobile, Alabama. I built CPAsinAlabama.com (opens in new tab) first, for my own state — as a business owner I found it genuinely hard to track down a good CPA, with the information scattered across outdated and clunky government search tools. Then CPAsinFlorida.com (opens in new tab), and now Colorado, an hour up the road.

More about me and my other projects at brooksconkle.com (opens in new tab). Colorado CPA Directory is operated by Kea Marketing LLC. It is an independent directory, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Colorado State Board of Accountancy or any state agency.

How it stays free

Browsing is free, always, and there's no charge to be listed — every active CPA on the state roster is here whether they know it or not. CPAs can optionally pay to upgrade a listing with a photo, bio, specialties, and contact details. On a few pages we also link to partner services and earn a commission if you sign up, always with a disclosure right next to the link. That's what keeps the lights on.

Upgraded listings are marked Featured and appear above the rest. Everything else is listed alphabetically by surname — we never quietly reorder the free listings based on who is paying, and a Featured badge means someone bought placement, not that we rate them more highly.

Questions, corrections, or complaints all go to the same place — our contact page.
